Breguet Tradition Tourbillon

Second time spending some time with this piece and love it. Fuse and chain, a discrete little PR, and all of the classic Breguet design marks. It’s funny to me how affordable these are relative to other brands that have essentially plagiarized the Traditi

Fusee-and-chain: nine examples

The fusee-and-chain transmission is a way of providing a constant even force to the escapement as the mainspring unwinds itself throughout its range of power reserve. The fusee (from the French fusée , wire wound around a spindle) is a cone-shaped pulley

A visit at the Paris Breguet Boutique Part Four: La Tradition. A true Tradition from Breguet.

When you discover a brand such as Breguet, you already know some little things about it. But you go deeper, and you see them with different eyes. For example, the Tradition. When Breguet decided to unveil it in 2005, ( 16 years ago, already! ) we learnt t

Check out the Naked Watchmaker's website for a deconstruction on 2 of these

If you're not familiar with it, the Naked Watchmaker is a great resource for understanding how different movements work. And it just so happened they deconstructed both the 7047 and the 5717. Here's the 7047: https://www.thenakedwatchmaker.com/decon-bregu

Thank you! I think these 3 are the most eclectic in Breguet's modern arsenal

They all offer some complication that you just don't see anywhere else. One could argue the 7047 overlaps a bit with what some other companies are doing (Romain Gauthier, Zenith, Ferdinand Berthoud, and A. Lange & Sohne have fusee and chain watches, and e

Just picked up my 3rd Breguet, a Classique Musicale 7800 - Bach version

For those keeping score, I now have a Tradition Tourbillon 7047, a Classique Hora Mundi 5717, and now a Classique Musicale 7800. There's one more Breguet (the Classique Chronometrie 7727) on my list before I feel my collection is complete, but I'm feeling

Tried taking a picture of the 7047's fusee and chain with a 20x loupe and my cell phone

Just playing around with a new loupe I got that can attach to my cell phone. I liked the way this one turned out Under a loupe: The part I zoomed in on was the lower right:

Wishlist for the remaining Breguet 250th anniversary novelties?

Breguet has been dropping a new release about once a month to celebrate the 250th anniversary. Assuming they stop at the end of the year, I'd say we have about 5 more coming? So far they've released the Classique Soubscription, the Tradition Retrograde Se

It's lighter and smaller than the Freak Cruiser I'm currently double-wristing it with :)

The diameter is quite reasonable, but it does have a bit of height/depth to it. I happen to also be wearing my Freak Cruiser (which I only got a few weeks ago as well), and the 7047 is much lighter. I didn't think I had particularly large wrists, but I gu

New (to me) Breguet Tradition Tourbillon 7047 with Fusee & Chain (7047BR/G9/9ZU)

I purchased what I believe to be new old stock of a 2013 Tradition Tourbillon 7047 with Fusee & Chain. I asked in a separate post about whether I would be able to register it with Breguet as the original owner, and the consensus was that I could. I'm
